Violet Mkhitaryan

Biochemist, holistic esthetician and skin care expert, Violet Mkhitaryan, is world-renowned for her groundbreaking skin care regimens and all natural product creations. Violet’s highly sought after hand-made products are inspired by her childhood in Armenia where as a young girl she created her own skin care with all natural ingredients she found in her families refrigerator. She learned that fresh properties from foods, oils and herbs were actually alive and more effective in improving her skin’s appearance. Her holistic approach to wellbeing comes from the Armenian culture where facials are a necessity rather than a luxury.

While in school, Violet earned an advanced degree in biochemistry and soon became Armenia’s leading educator in the field of aesthetics and beauty. In addition to her degree, she holds an International Diploma in Cosmetology and Aesthetics. Violet has 35 years of experience owning and operating spas in Armenia, Moscow, and Boston, Massachusetts.

Our Start on Newbury Street in Boston

In 1992, Violet moved her family to the US to pursue her dreams of launching her own business. After attracting a devoted client base, she opened Violet Skin Boutique on Boston’s upscale Newbury Street, where she used her old world Eastern European recipes to create her luxurious handmade signature organic masks, moisturizers and cleansers which serve a variety of skin conditions. Violet spa’s best-sellers include the Violet yolk mask (known as the instant skin lift), the chocolate mask (one of Violet’s first formulations), and dry masks like the flax seed or fenugreek (essential in treating rosacea and acne).

Our Family & Future

Violet’s twin daughters, Rousanna and Susanna, were born in 1975 in Yerevan, Armenia. Just as Violet learned from generations before her, the twins became fascinated by Violet’s homemade creations and skin care secrets and wanted to discover more. They are now a driving force in the Violet success story. They completed nursing degrees in 1998 and their MBAs in 2004, then joined the family business to help Violet open her signature spa. The spa earned Boston Magazine’s prestigious “Best Facial” award and national recognition in publications, such as Everyday with Rachael Ray and InStyle.

Violet formulator, Susanna Gevondian Nassar, draws upon her aromatherapy knowledge passed down to her through generations. Her passion for natural, holistic beauty and lifestyle as well as health of future generation of girls, drives her as a natural formulator today.

Susanna brings a modern approach to Violets’ innovative recipes. She meticulously selects the freshest ingredients that maximize the effectiveness of the luxurious products. Rousanna executes marketing and communications for the Violet brand and spearheads the expansion of Violet’s products nationwide. All three women continue to manage the day to day operations of both spas and the product line.

As Violet’s family has expanded, so has her brand, which now includes a collection of baby products, men’s and women’s cream cleansers, and more, designed for individual skin types and specific needs, like rosacea, acne and eczema, filling a niche in the market for freshly formulated, organic all natural, chemical free skin care. Violet and her twin daughter’s skin prove that Violet’s products skin care holds the secret to youth and radiance at any age.
